Approximately 36 ounces worsted weight yarn
Size 9 US (5.5 mm) circular knitting needle
Size G crochet hook (optional)

Pattern Stitches

Seed Stitch (odd number of stitches)
Row 1: *k1, p1, repeat from * to last st, end k1
Rep Row 1.

Framed Cable (18 stitches)
Abbreviations
Front cross (FC): sl 3 sts to cable needle (cn) and hold in front; knit 3, then knit 3 from cn.
Single Front Cross (SFC): sl 1 st to cn and hold in front, p1, then k1 tbl from cn.
Single Back Cross (SBC): sl 1 st to cn and hold in back, k1 tbl, then p1 from cn.
Row 1 (WS): k5, p8, k5
Row 2: p4, SBC, k6, SFC, p4
Row 3 and all subsequent WS rows: knit all knit st and purl all purl sts
Row 4: p3, SBC, p1, k6, p1, SFC, p3
Row 6: p2, SBC, p2, FC, p2, SFC, p2

Finishing
If desired, work one round of single crochet around plus another row of double crochet at each end, especially if you want to fringe.
