Moon And Stars Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern

Follow the easy chart to knit this adorable quarter moon and stars baby blanket with many possible variations.

Read charts beginning at the bottom right corner. Row 1 and odd rows are read left to right. Row 2 and even rows are read right to left. Each square represents one stitch.

Size:
35" wide x 34" long

Gauge:
13 sts and 16 rows=4" in St st with two strands held tog

Materials:
Size 11 (8 mm) 26" circulars or size needed to obtain gauge
Crystal Palace Yarns Bunny Hop
50 % micro Acrylic, 42% micro Nylon, 8% rabbit angora
50 grams/1.75 ounces - 113 yards/103 meters
12 balls Color 2205 Marigold

Moon And Stars Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern

Instructions
Note: Entire blanket is knit with two strands held tog.

CO 116 sts loosely.
Work 3 rows Seed Stitch:
Row 1: *k1, p1; rep from *
Row 2: sl 1, *k1, p1; rep from *, end k1
Row 3: sl 1, * p1, k1; rep from *, end p1

Working the first and last 4 sts in Seed Stitch and continuing to slip the first st of every row, begin with Row 1 of chart, repeating chart 3 times across. Place markers between repeats if desired.

Work the first repeat with the moon and stars in St st and the background in Rev St st.
Work the second repeat with the moon and stars in Rev St st and the background in St st.
Work the third repeat as the first repeat.

Note both sides look the same, only reversed.

Rep Rows 1-66 of chart one more time, reversing the moon and stars and background on the second repeat:
Work the first repeat with the with the moon and stars in Rev St st and the background in St st.
Work the second repeat with the moon and stars in St st and the background in Rev St st.
Work the third repeat as the first repeat.

Work 3 rows of Seed Stitch. BO loosely in pat.

Weave in ends on WS.
Block if desired.

Moon And Stars Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern

There are many variations possible. You could work all the moons and stars in St st and the background in Rev St st or vice versa. Add more repeats across or down for a bigger blanket (additional yarn will be needed).
