Two Needle Blocks Baby Booties Knitting Pattern

Baby Booties And Top Knot Hat Knitting Pattern

Easy to knit baby booties on two needles features a simple knit and purl block pattern. The matching baby top knot hat pattern is available here.

Size:
Fits babies to about 9 months

Gauge:
14 sts and 18 rows=4" in St st

Materials:
Size 11 (8 mm) straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Puffin by Crystal Palace Yarns
1 ball Color #0202 Dotty Blues (second ball needed for matching hat)
100% polyester fleece
50 grams/1.75 ounces
84 yards/77 meters

Instructions
Beginning at the sole, CO 16 sts.
Rows 1, 3, and 5: p
Row 2: k1, knit into front and back of next st, k4, k into front and back of next st, k2, knit into front and back of next st, k4, knit into front and back of next st, k1 - 20 sts
Row 4: k1, knit into front and back of next st, k6, k into front and back of next st, k2, knit into front and back of next st, k6, knit into front and back of next st, k1 - 24 sts

These rows form the sides of the booties.
K 8 rows.

This section is the top of the bootie and is the Blocks Pattern found in the matching hat.
k9, p2, k2, p2, leave remaining sts unworked.
Slip all sts with yarn in front:
Row 1: Sl 1 from left to right needle, turn, p1, k2, p2, k2
Row 2: Sl 1, turn, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1
Row 3: Sl 1, turn, (k2, p2) twice, k1
Row 4: Sl 1, turn, (k2, p2) twice, k2
Row 5: Sl 1, turn, k1, (p2, k2) twice, p2
Row 6: Sl 1, turn, k1, (p2, k2) twice, p2, k1
Row 7: Sl 1, turn, (p2, k2) 3 times, p1
Row 8: Sl 1, turn, (p2, k2) 3 times, p2
Row 9: Sl 1, turn, p1, (k2, p2) 3 times, k2
Row 10: Sl 1, turn, p1, (k2, p2) 3 times, k2, p1, k4 to end of row.
Row 11: p4, k1, (p2, k2) 3 times, p2, k1, p4

Knit in k1, p1 rib for 2 inches for cuff. BO in pat, leaving a long tail for seaming.

Finishing
Seam back and sole of bootie with tail, reversing side that is seamed for cuff when folded over in half. Weave in ends on WS.
