Hexagon Purse Knitting Pattern

This hexagon shaped purse is trimmed in seed stitch and has simple shaping.

Size:
Approximately 9" long x 11" wide at widest point

Gauge:
16 sts and 20 rows=4" in St st

Materials:
Size 10½ US (6.5 mm) needles
Crystal Palace Yarns Meringue
2 balls Color 9809 Fall Herbs
40% merino wool/40% acrylic/20% elastic nylon fibers
50 grams/1.75 ounces
123 yards/114 meters
Tapestry needle
Snap

Instructions
Seed Stitch
Row 1:
*k1, p1; rep from *
Row 2: *p1, k1; rep from *

Purse
CO 28 sts. Work 2 rows Seed Stitch.
Work 3 more rows Seed Stitch, then switch to St st. At the same time, inc 1 st at each end next and every other row until you have 52 sts.
Dec 1 st at each end every other row until you have 28 sts
Work 3 rows even.
Inc 1 st at each end next and every other row until you have 52 sts.
Dec 1 st at each end every other row until you have 32 sts. P one row. Switch to Seed Stitch.
Work 5 rows Seed Stitch, cont to dec as est twice more - 28 sts
BO in pattern.

Handles
CO 100 sts. Work in Seed Stitch 3 rows. BO in pattern.

Finishing
Fold in half (BO end to CO end). Sew side seams. Sew on handles. Sew on snap. Weave in ends on WS.
