Lace Bookmark Knitting Pattern

If you've never tried lace knitting before, this is a perfect small knitting project to give it a go!

Gauge:
About 8 sts=1" in lace pattern

Materials Size 10 crochet cotton thread or fingering weight yarn
Size 2 US (2.75 mm) needles

Instructions
Abbreviations
skpo = slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over the stitch just knitted
sk2tpo = slip 1, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over
CO 20 sts.
Knit 3 rows.
Row 1 (RS): (RS) k7, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k7
Row 2 and all even rows: k2, purl to last 2 sts, k2
Row 3: k5, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k6
Row 5: k4, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k5
Row 7: k3, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k4
Row 9: k2, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k3
Row 11: k4, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, yo, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k2
Row 13: k5, yo, skpo, k2, yo, sk2tpo, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k4
