Heart Shaped Cloth Knitting Pattern

Heart Shaped Cloth Knitting Pattern

With a bulky weight yarn and big needles, this makes a thick potholder or hot pad. If knit with a light weight yarn and large needles, it's a lacy cloth.

To make a larger cloth, cast on additional stitches.

Size:
Approximately 5½" x 5½"

Gauge:
About 5 sts=1 inch in St st (not vital)

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn Size 8 US (5 mm) needles

Instructions
CO 9 sts.
Rows 1-3: K1, yo, k across to center stitch, k in front loop, back loop, then front loop again of center stitch (double inc), k across to last st, yo, k1
Rows 4-15: K across to center stitch, k in front loop, back loop, then front loop again of center stitch (double inc), k across rem sts
Rows 16-18: K2tog, k across to center stitch, k in front loop, back loop, then front loop again of center stitch (double inc), k across to last 2 sts, k2tog
Rows 19-21: (K2tog) twice, k across to center stitch, k in front loop, back loop, then front loop again of center stitch (double inc), k across to last 4 sts, (k2tog) twice

BO. Weave in ends on WS.
