Webkniz Cape Knitting Pattern

This is a very easy knitting pattern for a cape that fits most dog and cats Webkinz stuffed animals.

Gauge:
28 sts and 36 rows=4" in St st with Color A

Materials:
Size 3 US (3.25 mm) needles
Fingering weight yarn (Color A)
Eyelash yarn (Color B)

K1, P1 Rib
Row 1: *k1, p1; rep from *
Rep this row.

Instructions
With Color A, CO 32 sts.
Knit 5 rows.
Note: Knit first and last 3 sts every row; rem sts are worked in St st.
Next row: k3, p to last 3 sts, k3
Inc row: k3, k in front and back of next st, k to last 4 sts, k in front and back of next st, k3
Rep last two rows 8 more times - 50 sts
Work even until piece meas 5" from beg, end with WS row completed.
With one strand of Colors A and B held together, using the Cable Cast On, CO 18 sts.
K across 18 sts, work k1, p1 rib across 50 sts.
Cable Cast On 18 sts, p across 18 sts, k1, p1 rib across 50 sts, p last 18 sts.
BO 18 sts, k1, p1 rib across 50 sts, k last 18 sts.
BO 18 sts, k1, p1 rib across.
Work k1, p1 across 50 sts until ribbing meas 1½" from beg.
BO.

Finishing
Weave in ends on WS.
Block.
To wear, tie around neck and fold ribbing down.
