Santa Hat Knitting Pattern

Fits most adults

Gauge:
10 sts=4 " in St st with one strand of Fling and Cotton Chenille held together

Materials:
Size 10½ US 16" circular needles
Size 10½ double points

For red body hat:
One ball Splash (Color Ivory #201) by Crystal Palace Yarns
100% polyester
94 yards/100 grams
One skein Cotton Chenille (Color Lacquer Red #9784) by Crystal Palace Yarns
100% mercerized cotton
98 yards/50 grams
One ball Fling (Lacquer Red #3538) by Crystal Palace Yarns
95% nylon/5% lurex
130 yards/50 grams

For white body hat:
One ball Splash (Lacquer Red #3390) by Crystal Palace Yarns
100% polyester
94 yards/100 grams
One skein Cotton Chenille (Color Bleached White #1058) by Crystal Palace Yarns
100% mercerized cotton
98 yards/50 grams
One ball Fling (True White #3687) by Crystal Palace Yarns
95% nylon/5% lurex
130 yards/50 grams

Instructions
With circular needles and two strands of Splash held together, CO 50 sts. Join being careful not to twist sts. Place marker for beg of round.
Purl for 3" for hat band.
Change to one strand of Fling and Cotton Chenille held togetherand knit in St st for 7" for crown of hat.

Begin dec rounds as follows (when diameter gets too small for circular needles, change to the double point needles).

*K6, k2tog; rep from *
Knit 5 rounds
*K5, k2tog; rep from *
Knit 5 rounds

Knit 5 rounds
*K2, k2tog; rep from *
Knit 5 rounds
K2tog around
Knit 5 rounds
K2tog around until 1 st remains and fasten off.

Make Splash pom pom for tip of hat and attach.
