Finished Chest Measurement:
5.5 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch 22 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches
Approximately 320 yards sport weight yarn
Use needles appropriate to yarn and to meet gauge; for ribbing use needles one or two sizes smaller. Instructions: Back:
CO 64 sts on smaller needles. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1½ (2, 2) "
Change to larger needles. Work even until piece measures 5½", excluding ribbing.
BO 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 58 sts. Work even until armhole measures 3".
Work both sides at the same time. Work 22 sts. Slip the next 14 sts to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, work remaining 22 sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 8 times - 14 sts.
Work even until armhole measures 5".
BO 7 sts beg next 4 rows. Front:
Work same as back. Sleeves:
CO 38 sts on smaller needles. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch.
Inc 1 st each end every 8th row 4 times - 46 sts. Work even until sleeve measures 7½", excluding ribbing.
BO 3 sts at beg of next two rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 13 times. BO rem sts. Finishing:
Sew left shoulder seam.
With smaller needles and RS facing, pick up 15 sts from right back neck edge, 14 sts from back neck holder, 15 sts from left back neck edge, 15 sts from left front neck edge, 14 sts from front neck holder, and 15 sts from right front neck edge - 88 sts.
Work 1 inch in K1, P1 ribbing.
BO loosely in ribbing.
Sew other shoulder.
Sew side and sleeve seams.
