Zig Zag Scarf Knitting Pattern

Zig Zag Scarf Knitting Pattern

This reversible scarf uses an easy knit and purl zig zag pattern; the shape of the scarf also zigs and zags.

You will need to block this scarf and it still may not lie completely flat. Work a round of single crochet around it or add a few extra stitches of seed stitch on each end and the begining and end.

Zig Zag Scarf

Gauge:
14 sts=4"

Materials:
Size 9 US (5.5 mm) needles
3 to 4 balls Tahki Chelsea Silk depending on length of scarf desired or appropriate substitution
35% wool/65% silk
50g/105 yards

Instructions

CO 29 sts.
Row 1: k10, p9, k10
Row 2: sl1, p9, k9, p9, sl1
Row 3: k1, k into front and back of next st, k7, p9, k8, k2tog, k1
Row 4: sl1, p9, k9, p9, sl1
Rows 5 through 14: Rep Rows 3 and 4
Row 15: k1, ssk, k8, p9, k7, k into front and back of next st, k1
Row 16: sl1, p9, k9, p9, sl1
Rows 17 through 26: Rep Rows 15 and 16

Rep Rows 3-26 until scarf is desired length. BO in pattern.
