Ruffled Jacket For Women Knitting Pattern

This cute jacket is knit with light weight yarn so it's great for the office or an evening out. Ruffles trim the sleeves, neck, bottom and front openings. It's closed with simple hooks and eyes.

18 sts and 24 rows=4" in St st

Bamboozle by Crystal Palace Yarns
3 (3, 4, 5) balls color 9698 Jet Black (Color A)
11 (11, 12, 13) balls color 7185 Sable (Color B)
55% bamboo/24% cotton/21% elastic nylon

Size 8 US (5 mm) straight needles
Size 8 US (5 mm) circular needles, at least 24" long

Back
With Color A and circular needles, CO 158 (178, 198, 214) sts. Working back and forth, knit every row 1".
Dec: k1, k2tog to last st, k1 - 80 (90, 100, 108) sts. Change to straight needles if desired.
Change to Color B. Work even in St st 11 (11, 11½, 12)" from beg. End with WS row completed.
Shape Armhole
BO 7 sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 6 (6, 8, 8) times - 54 (64, 70, 78) sts
Work even until piece meas 20 (20, 21, 22)" from beg (armhole will meas 9 [9, 9½, 10]"), end with WS row completed.
BO 7 (8, 9, 10) sts beg next 4 rows. Place rem 26 (32, 34, 38) sts on holder for back of neck.

Left Front
With Color A, CO 74 (82, 94, 102) sts. Knit every row 1".
Dec: k1, k2tog to last st, k1 - 38 (42, 48, 52) sts
Change to Color B. Work even in St st 11 (11, 11½, 12)" from beg. End with WS row completed.
Shape Armhole
BO 7 sts, k to end.
Dec 1 st at armhole every other row 6 (6, 8, 8) times as follows: - 25 (29, 33, 37) sts

k1, SSK, k to end
Work even until armhole measures 7 (7, 7½, 8)". End with RS row completed.
Shape Neck
WS: BO 7 (8, 11, 12) sts, then dec 1 st every other row 4 (5, 4, 5) times as follows:
k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
Work even until piece meas same as Back.
BO 7 (8, 9, 10) sts beg next 2 rows.

Right Front
Same as Left Front, reversing shaping.

Sleeves
With Color A, CO 84 (90, 94, 102) sts. Knit every row 1".
Dec: k1, k2tog to last st, k1 - 42 (46, 48, 52) sts
Change to Color B.
Working in St st, k 1 row.
Inc 1 st each end every 6th row 6 (6, 13, 13) times, then every 8th row 5 (5, 0, 0) times - 64 (68, 74, 78) sts
Work even until 17½ (18, 18, 18½)" from beg.
Shape Cap
BO 7 sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 23 (23, 25, 27) times.

Neck Finishing
Seam shoulders.
With circular needles and RS facing, pick up 17 (18, 21, 22) sts along right neck front, knit 26 (32, 34, 38) from holder for back neck sts, pick up 17 (18, 21, 22) sts along left neck front - 60 (68, 76, 82) sts
Inc: k1, k into front and back of each st to last st, k1 - 118 (134, 150, 162) sts
Working back and forth, k every row 1". BO.

Bands
Right Front

With circular needles and RS facing, pick up 94 (94, 98, 102) sts.
Inc: k1, k into front and back of each st to last st, k1 - 186 (186, 194, 202) sts
Working back and forth, k every row 1". BO.
Left Front
Repeat instructions for Right Front.

Finishing
Sew in sleeves. Seam sleeves and side seams.
Weave in ends on WS.
With needle and thread, sew on 9 hooks and eyes evenly spaced along inside seam of front bands.
